Beth Burchinshaw D.C., (formerly Beth Crozsman) is a licensed chiropractor and a member of the College of Chiropractors of Nova Scotia, International Chiropractic Pediatric Associate and with the Canadian Chiropractic Association.
After graduating from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish Nova Scotia with an Advanced Major in Biology, Dr. Burchinshaw travelled to Toronto, Ontario to pursue her education in the health care field by enrolling at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Her passion for healing grew as she learned and witness how chiropractic can have such a huge impact on people in need. She believes that it is not only the physical state of a person but also the mental and emotional state that leads to complete health and that each individual has different needs when it comes to treatment.
Dr. Burchinshaw uses many assessment tools and orthopedic tests to diagnose her patient’s complaint and uses various techniques, which she believes will prove to be the most beneficial to the patient. Treatments may include diversified adjustments, drop piece adjustments, mobilizations, manual soft tissue techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue technique (Graston Technique), home care exercise regimen or any combination of these treatments.
Dr. Burchinshaw focuses on the treatment and management of neck; mid back and low back complaints as well as treating other joints and muscles of the upper and lower limbs. She has treated acute pain episodes as well managing chronic conditions with great success. She has developed a keen interest in working with infants and with pregnant women to help relieve the pain associated with pregnancy and is certified in Webster’s Technique, a special technique that helps realign the pelvis during pregnancy and may help prevent or correct breech positioning. She is currently working towards her paediatric certification through the ICPA.
Sasha is a Halifax native who graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2006. Growing up, she was a sports enthusiast, active in competitive canoe/kayak, swimming and running. Regular chiropractic care played an important role in her health maintenance and treatment of injuries.
During her time at Dalhousie, she was an athletic trainer with the Dalhousie varsity swim team. This sparked her interests in the fields of sport injury rehabilitation and myofascial work. The combination of her earlier years and Dalhousie experience, helped to create her passion for chiropractic work and the amazing results it had on people’s lives.
After travelling abroad for a year, she pursued her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2011 and moved back to Halifax to establish her practice. Her personal goal has always been to achieve and maintain the best possible health and this is the same goal that she has for her patients. As an advocate of both wellness care and injury prevention, she uses a diversified chiropractic approach, which includes a focus on the spine and extremities as well as the implementation of muscle release techniques (MRT). She is also certified in the use of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue work and Kinesiotape techniques to support muscular, postural and joint injuries.
Her practice encompasses chiropractic care for children, adults and the elderly. She has a passion for treating athletes and has a special interest in working with individuals with TMJ (temporal-mandibular joint) associated discomfort.
Sasha serves as a Member at Large for the Nova Scotia Chiropractic Association. She is a First Aid/CPR instructor, has acted as the team chiropractor for a Junior level hockey team and is an avid volunteer for a variety of non-profit organizations. Away from the office, she is a dedicated long distance runner, cross-fitter and yogi and can often be found hiking with her dog Maverick.
